1. General info
Avantida gives you the option to share a reuse with a colleague transporter. That means that you can offer your empty import containers to other colleague transporters in the neighborhood for their export booking and that you yourself can search on the platform if another transporter is offering an empty import container for your export booking.
2. How to offer an empty import container
If you have an empty import container that you cannot re-use yourself, you can offer it to other transporters in the neighborhood who can then reuse it for their own export booking.
You have 2 possibilities to offer your container:
check in the list if any transporter in your neighborhood is looking for a container
actively post your offer for other transporters to find.
2.1 check the list of posted export bookings
Login to platform.avantida.com, go to the application ‘match empty containers’ and choose the tab ‘Any available offer/search’. You’ll be looking for posts with the tag 'EXPORT BOOKING' in front of them.
Use the filters to check if someone has posted an export booking for a container that corresponds with your offer.
Location
Post type: export booking
Container size
Container type
Shipping line
If you find a match, simply click on the 3 dots next to the post and choose ‘take it’
You will be redirected to our normal reuse form that is partially filled out already with the details provided by the other transporter (export booking, import location etc.)
Complete the form and click on submit
You now have a normal pending reuse request in your reuse overview. As soon as the shipping line approves it, you will be given the contact details of the other transporter by mail and in the tab ‘history of matches’ so you can make arrangements to hand over the container
In this scenario, you file the reuse request, so you pay the reuse price defined by the shipping line, but no other costs will be charged for offering the container.
2.2 post your import container
if you haven’t found a convenient export booking in the list, you can also actively post your import container so that other transporters can find it in the list or the system can propose matches with other posts.
click on the button ‘add import container/export booking’ and choose ‘add import container’
Fill in the required fields:
shipping line
import location,
current location,
container number and type.
Share until: Please make sure that, if nobody takes your offer, you still have enough time left to bring the container back to the designated depot yourself! We advise you share until the day before the deadline.
Click on 'add import container'
The offer will appear in the tab ‘proposed matches' for you and in 'any available offer/search for other transporters.
You now have 2 options:
You choose one of the matches proposed by the system
You leave your offer for other transporters to accept
2.2.1 choose one of the matches proposed by the system
In the overview ‘proposed matches', matching options will be proposed to you:
either with an export booking post from another transporter: You click on 'match' and you will be shown a reuse form that you can complete and file. Once the shipping line has accepted it, you will be given the contact details of the other transporter to give them the container
or with an alternative drop-off location: the system will offer you an alternative drop-off location in your area. Once you click on 'match' you will be shown the drop-off request form that you can complete and file.
The expected price will be shown (subject to change)
In both cases, you file the reuse/drop-off request, so you pay the price defined by the shipping line, but no other costs will be charged.
2.2.2 leave your offer for other transporters to accept
If none of the proposals match for you, the offer will stay visible for other transporters.
When another transporter takes your offer, they file reuse request for it. Once that reuse has been approved by the shipping line, you will receive the contact details of the other transporter in your request and per e-mail, so you can agree where and when to hand over the container.
In this case the other transporter files the reuse request, so they pay the price defined by the shipping line. No other costs will be charged for the sharing of the reuse.
